Acredita CI begins the path to join the international field as an Accreditation Agency for engineering programs and offer this accreditation in Chile, signing a Memorandum of Understanding with ABET (United States), in order to share best practices in the processes of accreditation of programs.

Third Meeting of the Lima Accord, held in Santiago, Chile. Accrediting Engineering Agencies elect Ms. Jessica Pizarro to represent Acredita CI as President of the Accord.

Patricia Daniels, Senior Evaluator of ABET, participates as an observer in an accreditation process developed by the Agency, for its validation suggests that Acredita CI enters the Washington Accord. It is necessary to orient the evaluation criteria towards results.

Professor Yadran Eterovic, peer evaluator of Acredita CI participates as an observer in the accreditation visit for the engineering programs of the University of Texas, Arlington.

2013

Professor Yadran Eterovic participates as an observer in the ABET Summer Meeting, the instance in which accreditation decisions are made.

2014

Acredita CI participates in the first meeting organized by the IEEE in Lima, Peru; in order to initiate a joint work with the accrediting engineering agencies of Latin America and achieve an accord similar to that of the Washington Accord.

Acredita CI contacts Hu Hanrahan, president of the Washington Accord, expressing its interest in joining the International Accord.

Hu Hanrahan formally invites Acredita CI to apply for the Washington Accord.

2015

Acredita CI participates in the second coordination meeting for what will be the future Lima Accord.

Felisa Córdova participates as an observer in an external evaluation visit for an accreditation process conducted by CEAB of Canada, in Quebec.

2016

The Lima Accord is signed in the city of Lima. This agreement recognizes the substantial equivalence of the training of Engineers in Mexico, Peru, Chile, Costa Rica, and the countries of Central America and the Caribbean.

Acredita CI applies for the Washington Accord.

Acredita CI makes its application presentation to the Washington Accord in front of the Colleagues of the 19 member countries, in Anchorage, United States.

2017

The second formal meeting of the Lima Accord is held in Mexico to advance the establishment of the rules and procedures of the Accord.

2018

Law 21.091 on Higher Education is enacted. Accrediting agencies in Chile are no longer supervised by CNA and only the institutional accreditation will be granted by the CNA from that moment. Acredita CI redefines its corporate purpose in order to being available for any activity that supports quality assurance processes in Higher Education Institutions.

2018

Acredita CI makes its presentation in front of colleagues from the 19 member countries of the Washington Accord, in London, to apply for the Washington Accord. Acredita CI's application is accepted, remaining as a Provisional Member of the Accord.

2018

Acredita CI reports the start of the accreditation processes of the Washington Accord in Chile for science-based engineering programs.

2018

Acredita CI signs a Memorandum of Understanding with ICACIT, the Institute of Quality and Accreditation of computer, engineering and technology programs in Peru, in order to collaborate on issues related to the accreditation activities of Engineering, Technology and Computer programs.

The Colegio de Ingenieros de Chile decides to continue offering quality assurance services in the areas of knowledge of Administration and Commerce, Natural resources, Science and Technology; making available to the Higher Education Institutions all the experience acquired through the years by Acredita CI.

Acredita Ci receives the visit of the Ph.D. Stuart Zweben, expert evaluator in engineering accreditation in his role as Mentor, as part of the Agency's application procedure for full membership of the Washington Accord.
